No marketing mix is complete without a promotional strategy using advertising and other “pull” tactics. Dividing the market into groups that can be easily understood and then approached in appropriate ways is essential to every business owners success. This segmentation allows you to spend your efforts targeting real potential customers and clients. Positioning your product or brand to be received well by your target groups means creating a specific message for specific needs.

Segmentation

You have to be able to really see your potential customer in order to accurately target them for business. You have to know who they are, what makes them happy and what they need. You have to know what problems they have before you can solve any of them with your brilliant products or services. The more you know the better off you are. That’s why personal data is so valuable and there appears to be no end to what is collected. Who are your customers and what groups do they belong in? Hopefully your market research has yielded crystal clear images for your minds eye. You want to know what media they consume and when. Are there any kids? Do they go on vacation? You can use all the information you can get.

Commonly used market research methods include sales analysis and buying patterns. Gather as much information as you can about your current customers. Hit the street or social media with some questionnaires. Website statistics and especially social media can point you in the right direction. Other popular tactics are focus groups and interviews. You can even hire the services of a market research company.

When you know exactly what you customer looks like its time to get their attention.

The big picture is only created when you connect the right dots. That’s Targeting. How you choose to relate to your target audience depends on your marketing plan objectives. Communicating with the right segments in the right way increases response rate.

Building a website with no outside links back to it (backlinks) is like building a hotel in the middle of a swamp with no roads in or out.  In other words if you build it NO ONE IS COMING! Don’t spend lot’s of your precious time designing and developing a website with out first considering who it’s for and how you will reach them. On the internet that usually means  “What keywords will your target audience be using?” What does your intended audience type into google to search for what they need? I have another blog post for that!

The best way to monetize your Youtube channel is with Youtube advertisements and affiliate marketing. As a content creator your not taking full advantage of the Youtube platform until you do both. I’ve been doing a ton of research lately and I’m happy to share some of my leads.

The first step to take is monetizing your Youtube account. It’s the easiest way to start earning revenue for your videos just for authorizing the presence of advertisements on your content.
